Golf at La Manga Club
For those who dream of playing golf on beautiful, top quality courses in an ideal, year-round climate, La Manga Club is the perfect golf destination.
La Manga Club has always been synonymous with golf and, with its three championship courses and outstanding practice facilities, it is perhaps hardly surprising that it has been voted Europe's top golf resort three times in the past four years*. The resort has also recently been chosen as the official winter training base of the German PGA in Spain.
Many international tournaments have been hosted at La Manga Club, including the Spanish Open, Spanish PGA Championships, Spanish Junior Championships, Ladies' Spanish Open and Senior Spanish Open for men, not to mention countless televised corporate and celebrity golf events.
With a choice of three superb, 18-hole championship courses, each with its own unique style and terrain, but all offering tranquil surroundings and many outstanding views, there is something to challenge golfers of all ages and abilities.
If you want to learn how to play golf, La Manga Club is just the right place as well. The Academy of Golf, one of the best in Europe, provides group and private tuition of the highest standards for all levels, from complete beginners to the most experienced players.
Whether you are fine-tuning your technique or learning the rudiments of the game, La Manga Club offers a truly diverse and unique golfing experience. Look no further for your next golf holiday, golfing break or corporate golf event!
The South Course |
The South Course has also proved an extremely popular venue for the many televised corporate and celebrity events held at the resort, such as The Times JP Morgan Fleming Corporate Challenge, the Finals of the World Corporate Golf Challenge, the Diners Club International Pro-Am, the Steve Redgrave's Golden Five, the Rover Four Nations Championship, the Variety Club Classic and the Footballers Classic.

Located in the centre of the resort, with wide, palm-fringed fairways and few hidden dangers, the South, whilst being a top-calibre championship course, is set up so that it can be enjoyed by golfers of all standards. Lakes, bunkers and gullies are strategically located around the course and provide an added challenge to every stroke.
The South Course is probably one of the fairest tests of golf one can find. The front nine are particularly tough, with two Par 3s over 200 metres and some daunting par 4s, which will require accurate driving between lakes and bunkers, and long irons or fairway woods to the green. The back nine, although shorter, has a number of dog-leg holes. Special attention should be given to the Stroke 1, Par 4, 15th, and to the Par 5, 18th, with water on both sides of the fairway and a ravine just short of a well-protected green, which will prove to be a particularly stern finish.

Completely renovated in 2000-2001, the North Course is now, for many players, the golfing highlight at La Manga Club.

The North Course is an undulating championship course, sprawling between palm trees, lakes and 'barrancas'. These natural storm gullies feature on all three golf courses and add an extra dimension to the game.
Slightly shorter than the South, with tighter fairways and larger greens, the North Course offers a different, yet no less challenging, round of golf. A feature of the newly constructed greens, all built to USGA specification, is the amount of movement incorporated in them, none more so than the short Par 3, 2nd, which has three distinct plateaux - a great test of putting. Relying on precision rather than length, an added challenge is provided by the wide variety of water hazards and 'barrancas' that snake their way through the course.
This gem is sure to provide a stern test of shot making from golfers of all standards. A deft touch is also required on the faster, newly designed greens.

The West Course |
Set amid serene pine woodlands, the West Course's design closely follows the natural contours of the undulating land. Its distinct character makes it a good alternative to the other, more classical championship courses.

It is a deceiving course, with frequent changes in elevation with which to contend. The tight front nine demands accurate driving to avoid the 'barrancas' (natural storm gullies) while the back nine, up amongst the hills, is more open but nonetheless challenging.
The West is many golfers' favourite, both because of its unique setting and outstanding views and because of the challenge offered by its narrow fairways, frequent blind shots and the gullies which snake through the course. The breathtaking views, undulating fairways and fast greens make this course particularly exciting to play. Unlike a lot of courses, having played here, golfers feel that every facet of their game has been tested to the full. Especially the Par 3 holes, which are a collection of probably the best short holes to be found anywhere on one golf course. Accuracy and good golf course management as opposed to length are very much a premium.
